Not for me to be honest. Italy have reached the high point in their life cycle of a team. They were very competitive last year and obviously beat France but a couple of things tell me they won't have it easy against France this year. Nick Mallett did a great job with them and has to be a loss. France will be gunning for revenge. France are at home. France had an excellent World Cup in the end. The fans will get behind them. I think Farnce are capable of doing anything and if they get going and Italy implode, 20 points suddenly doesnt seem that much in rugby.

Would be slightly worried for Ireland this week, we knew exactly what way wales would play and yet we could do nothing to stop them. If we play the same in Paris France will beat us by a minimum of 10 points which is what I think will happen unfortuanatly as the team has gone a bit stale and needs new blood which Kidney seems reluctant to do.

Just seen the odds and spreads for the weekend, its France -9 which is about right, but the one that caught my eye was Italy plus 8. I dont know if anyone saw Scotland v England last week but it was a farce and Italy’s first home game of the season is always a tricky one for visiting teams. Ireland won there by two last year, England by five in 2010 and by four in 2008. Over the last four years, only Ireland in 2009 and France in 2007 have run riot in Italy’s first home game of the season. Ireland and France won the title in each of those years. I think this is a great bet.

ireland +9 and scotland+12 double.
italy +7 sounds good but i think over34.5 pts is a safer bet.
